GLA runs summer programs for high school students in destinations around the world, including Africa, Asia & the Pacific, Europe and the Americas. We also run a middle school summer program for our younger travelers!

If you’re an aspiring teen traveler looking to make a meaningful difference in a community or habitat abroad, all while having a life-changing adventure, you’ve come to the right place. Our most visited destination year after year is Costa Rica, including our most popular program, Costa Rica: Beachside Service Adventure. Though we encourage you to explore any destination below that sparks your interest, from Peru to Thailand, and the Galapagos Islands to Ghana, there’s an adventure waiting around just about every corner.

If you’re the parent of a teenager and you’re looking for a great location to start, any of our destinations fit the bill, but the Dominican Republic is only a short flight away, and our Dominican Republic: Caribbean Sea Conservation Project was named a finalist for Most Innovative Volunteer Abroad Program in 2023! Greece and Spain are just across the Atlantic, and we also have programs available within the United States. But even if the teen in your family is hoping to go far away to a destination such as Fiji, Bali or Tanzania, we have you covered every step of the way, from helping you choose the perfect program, to coordinating your travel plans as summer gets closer.
