Community Service
Connection to place is the starting point for service on this program. Service projects in remote areas are situational in the context of community, so you’ll learn about not only the ecological needs in this area, but also cultural and economic factors. Students will have ample opportunities to work with land management agencies, the park service or the forest service. Combine your efforts with those of your peers who share your passion for environmental stewardship. Together, you may take part in trail maintenance, the mitigation of invasive species or sustainable infrastructure support efforts.

Immersive Learning
Learn about the differing missions among various federal agencies, such as the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Hear from experts and guest speakers who specialize in outdoor adventure activities, managing the local wildlife, preserving the natural habitats of the region, and empowering local communities to protect the lands found here. You will encounter flora and fauna of all colors and stripes, and discover how conservation and wild animal management works at National Parks throughout the United States.
Adventure
Spend time in two world-famous National Parks: Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Each comes with a diverse set of landscapes, scenery, wild animals and plant life that you will encounter during your time in the parks. These parks aren’t the only treasures you’ll dig up while here. Hike, raft, climb and swim to your heart’s content. Finally, see which rare and native animals you can spot along the way, and take part in a stargazing experience led by astronomy experts, utilizing telescopes in this low-light-polluted locale.
