COVID-19 Status Updates by Region & by Country
Global Leadership Adventures is actively monitoring circulation of the COVID-19 disease, commonly known as the Coronavirus. On this page, you’ll find regional CDC Travel Health Notices for Europe and Global countries at the top, as well as status updates by country for any location in which GLA operates programs below.
Global Countries
Countries around the globe (excluding specified European countries) are at CDC Level 2.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, travelers to CDC Level 2 locations should simply practice enhanced precautions for these destinations. For instance, travelers should avoid contact with sick people and wash their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, they recommend using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Older adults and people of any age with serious chronic medical conditions are at increased risk and should consider postponing nonessential travel. Travelers should also monitor their health and limit interactions with others for 14 days after returning from travel as an extra precaution.
At this time, GLA programs are still planned to operate throughout Africa, Asia and Latin America this summer.
European Countries
Countries in Europe (including those specified via this link) are at CDC Level 3.
Right now, there is an evaluation window in regards to European travel. We ask families to take a wait-and-see approach at this time, as our first programs in Europe don’t begin until July. Our Risk Management Team is actively and diligently assessing the situation on the ground in the meantime. Please contact us directly if you have any questions.
