Enrollment Specialist (Consultative Sales) - San José, Costa Rica

Division: Global Leadership Adventures

Role: Full-Time Enrollment Specialist

Location: San José, Costa Rica Duration: Sept 30, 2019 - August 31, 2020

Global Leadership Adventures (GLA) is a fast growing international education company that sells and operates high-quality, short-term service-learning trips for high school students in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America. Our onboarding and ongoing training is designed to engage, monitor individual performance and incentivize team members. You will work alongside a team of fellow like-minded full-time staff, interns and supervisors throughout your time in Costa Rica.

Responsibilities of the Enrollment Specialist: Consultative Sales

  • Work on the Admissions Team to generate enrollments by engaging in consultative sales over the phone with families who have expressed interest in our programs.
  • You will speak with thousands of prospective families over the phone and communicate the excitement and transformative nature of our experiences as well as alleviate the nervousness that accompanies international travel.
  • Calling warm leads, following up via phone from prior conversations, answering inbound calls and emailing.
  • Make an average of at least 150 calls per day.
  • You will be responsible for CLOSING sales (target of approximately 300 sales)
  • Assist with program support and deliver superior customer service.
  • Staff our 24/7 hotline for on-call for shifts during the summer while programs are operating.
  • While most of the time you will be selling, this is a team effort: at times, you may be asked to assist in other tasks or projects as needed
  • Through this position you will be given the ability to develop skills and knowledge that will accelerate career advancement and future professional opportunities.

Qualifications:

At least 2 years of phone-based sales (consultative sales preferred) and customer service experience
Bachelor’s degree
You have an innate sense of customer service and have the work experience to prove it
You must be alright with facing lots of rejection every day.
Hard-working, flexible, positive,resilient and have a sense of humor
Passionate about not only the GLA mission, but also Sales & Customer Service
You are highly motivated and you are great at taking initiative
You contribute to a positive workplace culture
Excellent communication skills
Experience with CRM software is preferred

About the Position in Costa Rica

This position is part of EduTerra Global Education division. This office is designed to give young professionals the chance to grow their international work experience, learn Spanish, and explore Costa Rica. Full time staff can choose to live with Costa Rican host families or arrange an apartment on their own. Our office is in Los Yoses, San Pedro, one of the most popular areas in San José. Work alongside other mission-driven full time staff and interns who work hard and play hard!

Position benefits include:

  • Monthly stipend based on experience starts at $1,200 monthly ($400 less if you choose to stay in Homestay lodging with a Costa Rican host family and two meals per day included)

Regional Enrollment Specialist - East (Consultative Sales)

Role: Full-Time Both Outside & Inside Sales

Location: Remotely Based in New York City Area

Compensation: $50,000+ based on experience

You will join us for onboarding at our San Jose, Costa Rica office with our global team this October.

Responsibilities of the Regional Enrollment Specialist - East 

Work as a member of the Admissions Team to generate enrollments by engaging in consultative sales over the phone with families who have expressed interest in our programs.

Outside Sales:

  • Host 1-3 events, meet-ups or meetings weekly from Nov through May mostly in the New York City Area, but also in other areas of the east coast as needed

  • Play a role in organizing and planning the events, logistics. Provide thought-leadership behind expansion of outreach in the area and feedback after event attendance.

  • Manage timely follow up to event attendees

  • Required: Events, meet-ups or meetings will typically take place outside of office hours (mornings, evenings, weekends, etc). You will be required to attend these events outside of office hours as needed as part of your work schedule

Inside Sales:

  • Follow up with or hand off leads you have spoken to in person. Follow up via phone and email as needed

  • You will speak with thousands of prospective families over the phone and communicate the excitement and transformative nature of our experiences as well as alleviate the nervousness that accompanies international travel.

  • Calling warm leads, following up via phone from prior conversations, answering inbound calls and emailing.

  • Make an average of at least 150 calls per daywhen not hosting an event; an average of 500 outbound calls per week

  • You will be responsible for CLOSING sales (target of approximately 300 sales)

  • Office hours are designed for us to support our families which is heavily ‘after school/work’ as we’re working with families and students. You can expect typically about 8 hour daily shifts that fall between the hours of 10am and 10pm Eastern time Monday through Saturday. Shifts will also include attending events/meetings outside of office hours (mostly evenings and weekends)

Customer Service:

  • Assist with program support and deliver superior customer service.

  • Staff our 24/7 hotline for on-call for shifts during the summer while programs are operating.

  • While most of the time you will be selling, this is a team effort: at times, you may be asked to assist in other tasks or projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of phone-based sales (consultative sales preferred) and customer service experience

  • At least 2 years of direct-sales experience - presenting, hosting and engaging in-person presentations, expos, etc.

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • You have an innate sense of customer service and have the work experience to prove it

  • You have the ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Hard-working, flexible, positive,resilient and have a sense of humor

  • Passionate about not only theGLA mission, but also Sales & Customer Service

  • Familiarity with tri-state region and transportation

  • You take the initiative to ask questions, pick up the phone, take action and think ahead

  • You have a positive attitude and you are a great communicator

  • Experience with CRM software is preferred

About the Position in New York-Area

You will be based from your own home office in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut tri-state area to provide immediate access to events and meet-ups in this region. You should be familiar with the area including geography, transportation, and major schools/school districts, and be able to navigate the area with ease and expertise. You will be one of a small number of staff representing the GLA brand on the East Coast and will provide an important perspective to interested families; you’ll be able to relate to local families looking into our programs and answer all of their questions in person, as well as over the phone. You must thrive working on your own remotely while also being able to put on a polished presentation for a group of nervous parents. As a member of the Admissions team, you will regularly connect remotely with the team based across the US and Costa Rica, as well as at least weekly one-on-one with your manager. However, you’ll largely work independently, so must have excellent time management and be intrinsically driven to get the job done.
