Where Can I Find Good Deals on Flights?

This summer is shaping up to be a real score for families looking to fly their teen abroad! With fuel prices at a decade-low and a stronger-than-normal US dollar, airfare hasn't been this good a deal in years.

Below, we highlight some of the destinations with the best airfare deals that you can take advantage of to reach a GLA program this summer.

Belize

American Airlines has great deals available for Belize City flights from July 9th through August 18th. Various other airlines have offerings from $600 & under departing from Los Angeles, Dallas, San Francisco, and New York City.

Costa Rica

American Airlines, Delta, Spirit, and others all have round trip offerings for under $300 total for various dates throughout the summer, from various US hub airports, making any of our Costa Rica programs a bargain to reach.

Dominican Republic

Flights to and from the Dominican Republic each way are available for under $300 for multiple dates this summer. Spirit, Delta, and Jet Blue are among the many carriers with low-cost flight specials to the DR.

GLA offers students on our Dominican Republic programs the option to arrive in either the Santiago or Puerto Plata airports for pickup by our local staff, so this gives you plenty of opportunities to score a deal on airfare.

Galapagos (Ecuador)

LAN and Aero Mexico have flights for under $500 from Los Angeles to Quito for our July 21st and August 6th Galapagos programs, and for under $600 from New York.

Guatemala

Flights for our Guatemala program are unusually inexpensive this time of the year! Flights to Guatemala City from LAX and New York are available in the $500-600 range.

Peru (Amazon)

If you're interested in attending our new Peru: Amazon Service Adventure program, deals on flights to Iquitos are available from major hub airports in Los Angeles and New York. Flights can be found for under $1200.

Spain

Multiple airlines are offering round-trip airfare out of New York to Valencia, Spain for under $1000 during our July program dates. Flights aboard well-known European air carriers such Air Europa, Swiss, and Lufthansa all fall into this price range. Our Spain program is based out of Valencia, so your student won't have to travel too far to reach the Home Base after a long flight.

Crossing the Atlantic has rarely been so easy and so affordable, especially during the popular summer months!

Other Flight Deals

One of our best tips is to reach out to STA Travel about their student contracted rates. STA has great rates from San Francisco and LAX on Virgin America and Air New Zealand to London for our United Kingdom program.

Student contracted rates on Air Pacific from Los Angeles to Nadi for our Fiji program are also worth checking out.
