Public Health Theme Program

If you’re interested in public health, GLA has the summer program for you. Travel to Ghana, Bali, Peru, Costa Rica, or the Dominican Republic, and take part in community service projects that directly improve the lives of some of the most at-risk and impoverished populations.

For example, students in the Peru program build clean-burning stoves to improve respiratory health of women and children as well as plant traditional medicinal plants so rural families can treat illness.

All GLA teen community service programs abroad allow the student to experience a new and different culture.  However, these programs include activities for high school students who are interested in public health:
