“The GLA experience is a special one, because we are focused on safety. The ratio of student to instructor is 10:1. While we believe that a high school volunteer who wants to participate in our program already possesses qualities such as maturity and responsibility, it is our duty to make sure our student participants remain safe. Therefore, we only form partnerships with first-class organizations. We have been featured in the New York Times, the Boston Globe and other major media outlets; and our founder was recently featured on CNN for his involvement in various programs. His initiative, as well as ours, is focused on giving students the opportunity for leadership enhancement, philanthropic objectives, and educational experiences. Cost varies according to country, but tuition includes: meals, lodging, travel medical insurance, entrance fees, classes, speakers, workshops and excursions; airfare is not included. You will earn a certificate of documented service hours, and upon communication with your high school and prospective higher education institution, you could earn supplemental credit hours. So, if you are enthusiastic, service-oriented, dedicated, passionate about global issues and human rights, and interested in living abroad and learning about another culture, begin the application process now. A Leader in High School Volunteer Teen Programs

Global Leadership Adventures is a leader in the field of international high school volunteer abroad summer programs. Our mission is to inspire the next generation to realize their potential to transform the world and their role in it.

Functioning as a service-based, educational program, we encourage teens to volunteer abroad. We have sent over a thousand students to foreign countries such as Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania, Bali, China, India, Thailand, Galapagos, Peru, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Guatemala.

Join other students, ranging in ages from 14 to 18, in their pursuit to engage in the culture while simultaneously participating in various community service organizations. Our range of high school volunteer abroad opportunities is only limited by your vocation.

You can engage in a range of high school volunteer opportunities:

  • Take care of orphans at a rural school at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa.
  • Build homes for villagers in the Caribbean.
