"I thank my History teacher for organizing this trip - it's made everything we've talked about in class come alive."
—Kristen L., Boston, USACustom Programs
Global Leadership Adventures offers high school teachers custom-designed programs that focus on experiential learning, volunteer work and in-depth cultural interactions. All GLA programs worldwide are thoughtfully designed for students to experience the richness of each location’s distinct culture. At the core of every program is a safe GLA Experience, which combines hands on service opportunities, thought-provoking seminars, meetings with dynamic local leaders, cultural excursions and connections with students from around the world.
Tailored to You
GLA Program Coordinators will work with you to create a program that matches the unique goals and topics you want to address. Custom programs can range from a few days to a few weeks, and are always assembled with great care and led by our experienced staff. Our US staff has worked extensively in all of our countries and our local staff has deep roots and a wide web of connections in their countries. We will definitely be able to tailor a program to fit your interests.
How it Works
We just require an enthusiastic sponsor who will dedicate energy to make this happen. GLA will provide promotional materials, speak with prospective families, put together reading materials, and send out necessary pre-departure information, including relevant articles. In country, we take care of all logistical concerns, including international air travel if air assistance is desired. All along the way, we work closely with the sponsor to ensure that the group is comfortable with all health, safety and emergency considerations.
The GLA Difference
GLA immerses its students in a country’s culture and provides them a safe environment where they can experience history in the making and learn the local language. The GLA Experience is about seeing firsthand some of the most important issues that face the world today and discovering what one person can do to make a difference. Through an integrated experiential learning environment, world history becomes real and active rather than passive – students can feel it come to life.
Bring a Group!
Educators are invited to bring groups of students to participate on an existing GLA program. Teachers who bring a group of 6 or more students can travel for free. Click here to learn more about leading a group on a GLA experience.
