Every student that participates on a GLA program becomes part of the GLA family. Since we only want what’s best for our family, our primary concern is safety. We take great care in providing our family a safe, comfortable environment to explore and develop leadership. Our staff, with many years of combined experience working on successful international student programs, makes sure that its GLA family is safe.

Because GLA cares about students having safe international adventures, the following precautions are taken:

• develop extensive emergency procedures to handle any unforeseen circumstances
• hire staff members certified in First Aid,
• research the best hospitals in the area,
• develop on-call relationships with local doctors
• maintain evening security personnel to ensure round-the-clock watch

Prior to GLA program, all participants receive a detailed pre-departure packet with information including:

• how to prepare (passports, visas, inoculations, etc.),
• what to expect,
• what to pack
• how family members can communicate with one another while on the program

This enables students and their parents to adequately prepare for the exciting journey ahead.

Every step of the GLA process, from the moment a student applies to the time a students returns, is carefully managed by experienced staff. For example, prior to departing on local excursions, students are briefed on what to look out for and what to avoid. We make sure that participants are ready to explore without feeling overburdened with precautions. Ultimately, our main objective is to provide every GLA student a safe, wonderful and memorable experience.
