Program Details: Lodging
Home-Base Group Lodging
The GLA Home Base varies from country to country, but it is a facility with dedicated space reserved exclusively for Global Leadership Adventures students and staff. Sometimes it is a floor of a building, other times it is a hostel that we completely take over, and in some cases it’s a large house that we own.
Students live in gender-segregated rooms with adult supervision. Students share a room with 2 to 4 roommates depending on the program.
During excursions or nights when the group is traveling away from the Home-Base, the group stays together in a safe, simple, clean hotel that is open to the public. Although during excursions the group is staying in public facilities, there is always direct staff supervision.
The GLA Home-Base will become your home away from home — to connect with other like-minded students and GLA staff, reflect on your experiences, enjoy meals together, prepare for work, and relax.
Safe & Secure Living
All GLA Home-Bases have restricted access so only people who are allowed to be on the grounds are there. We maintain watchmen in the evening to keep an eye on things while the students are sleeping.
Healthy Meals
In each GLA Home-Base, we serve breakfast, lunch and dinners every day. We provide meals that are safe and healthy to eat, and reflects the local cuisine. We can accommodate vegetarian diets in all programs. Other dietary restrictions or other food related health concerns can be accommodated on a case by case basis.
